Kenya focuses her practice on a wide range of commercial real estate related transactions including in the acquisition, development and construction financing of office, retail, multi-family and mixed-use projects. She also has extensive experience representing lenders and on a variety of complex finance transactions including term and revolving facilities, construction facilities, loan servicing and loan workouts.
Prior to joining Longleaf Law Partners, Kenya gained experience working as an Associate in the Charlotte office of a large international law firm. A graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, Kenya had the honor of becoming the first African American person to serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Wake Forest Law Review. She completed her undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University, after which she worked for two years as an English teacher in Málaga, Spain. Kenya also received a master’s degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University and worked in sponsorship for the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics prior to attending law school.
Kenya was nominated to be a member of the 2024 Pathfinders program with the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. In her spare time, Kenya also serves as a Board Member of the Muggsy Bogues Family Foundation.
