T. Carlton Younger, III (“Carl”), Partner

Direct: (919) 780-5446

Carl’s practice includes advising owners, developers and businesses in a variety of complex commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, financing, development, construction and sale of retail, office, warehouse, mixed-use and hotel properties. Carl has significant experience negotiating commercial lease agreements for office, industrial/warehouse and retail space for both landlords and tenants across North Carolina. His goal in representing clients in transactional and leasing matters is to efficiently identify and advise his clients of the key legal and business issues, advocate for his client’s position, and work collaboratively with all parties on creative solutions so that all parties can complete their transaction.

Carl also represents clients in a variety of complex business litigation matters in the state and federal courts of North Carolina, as well as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Carl represents business owners, real estate developers and individuals in property disputes, breach of contract and bad faith claims, foreclosures and deficiency litigation, construction disputes, lien filings, eviction proceedings and landlord/tenant matters. He also has experience representing owners pursuing real property tax appeals in county and state administrative hearings. Carl seeks to aggressively advocate for his clients in the courtroom, while also advising his clients of the potential risks of litigation as well as working towards business-appropriate resolutions for his clients.

Carl previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Martha A. Geer at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Carl received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, with honors, in 2004 and graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with distinction, in 2001.
